Audacity is now a Possible Spyware, Remove it ASAP

I downloaded it but still not installed, luckily. I don't quite understand the point of doing it this way. No one will use it anymore and risk using another music software that will be less spy.

Personally, that hurts me a bit. I've always heard good things about "Audacity" in terms of music. Plus a free app. I'm really disappointed to learn that. Anyway thank you for the info. The lure of gain, that changes everything. There are other software they are worth, but it's really a shame. Too bad, I'll fall back on Cubase, lol. It's not bad either, what do you think?

luckily it is open source, so im sure that ppl will make some forks of it now that the main one has been compromised. its kinda sad though, like i thought that audacity would be like the winrar of audio

A program for manipulating audio has no business being online.
I use simplewall to block such programs from connecting anywhere.
Still, it's a shame, but still, such is the times we live in.
