Realtek High Definition Audio Latest WHQL
I recently did a driver update scan using a portable app from the driveridentifier.com site on my old HP computer and that site says the 6.0.9191.1 HDA driver version is no longer the latest version & now has found an updated version - v6.0.9205.1 from ASUS which points to this link:

-seems to be listed for an Asus H110T-CM-A motherboard; I checked the driver downloads from the Asus support site for that specific board and the 9205 HDA FF00 driver is fully generic bundled with a bunch of extras (the Win7 KB2670838 & KB4019264 updates, DTS Custom app for Asus + Realtek ASIO) - that download is about 600Mb in size - released at the end of Aug. 2021

here's an alternate link to the generic 6.0.9205.1 HDA FF00 driver download without the extras (this was made by someone else though)

9205 HDA should provide very good sound quality as the older 9151 & 9183 HDA versions cuz I know the UAD edition of 9205 provided very good sound as given by some of the reviews in Tenforums

I take part of this back - ASRock Industrial DID silently release the 9183 FF00 driver in early August 2021 (actually 8/6/2021), a little more than a week after 9183 FF00 was released by Supermicro.
it was noted in ASRock Ind. Technical FAQ page no. 21033101:

the 9183 FF00 HDA driver was listed for an IMB-1710 motherboard

edit 1/25/2022 - ASRock also had an older 6.0.9167.1 FF00 HDA generic x64 driver as well (silently released though)

I'll continue to monitor/watch that specific tech FAQ page if & when ASRock Ind. decides to post new HDA drivers there

several months later, EVGA did get the old but "generic" 6.0.9107.1 HDA FF00 driver for 32bit & 64bit Windows for their Z590 motherboards (both HDARt.inf & HDXRT.inf files included for 9107 HDA)

lesser known pc manufacturers/vendors tend to get these generic Realtek HDA drivers several weeks or months late but that is normal for them

gonna temporarily downgrade & try out 9107 HDA on my HP desktop computer

even Supermicro also got the generic 9205 HDA FF00 driver package as well (posted it on Oct. 5, 2021)

too bad the Dell A21 version of the 6.0.9205.1 HDA + Maxxaudio driver is causing some recent problems for certain Dell XPS 8930 users as noted in these Dell forum topics

seems that windows update is screwing up their xps 8930 systems and had to block driver updates

edit 3/06/2024 - eventually MS stopped offering the buggy 6.0.9205.1 HDA FF06 Dell + Maxxaudio driver thru windows update.
and Dell had also eventually pulled/removed the 6.0.9205.1 HDA FF06 driver off their web site as well and the latest HDA driver listed for the XPS 8930 desktop pc is the older but reliable 6.0.1.8248 version.

6.0.9205.1 FF00 > very good
6.0.9205.1 FF06 > bad & buggy

Supermicro driver size is 300 Mb around. Better than 600 Mb setup from others.

M$ brains f**ed by patching their apps again and again lol. Updates serve no purpose. Security drama is a big bullsh*t. I keep updates of in admin mode group policy. Run Os for few months and then install updated w10 when needed.

WHQL for x64 Win10/Win11 only, unsigned for pre-Win10 versions

edit - I'll updated most of my PCs that run Win10 to 9235 HDA beginning Nov. 1.  my bro's old Sony vaio laptop will remain at 9205 FF00 because that one runs Win7

9235 missing the quality of 9205. Reverted back to 9205.

be careful with Realtek UAD drivers, they are really crappy. For example, when you plug-in the headphones, the speakers are not silenced automatically. I've seen this happen on several notebooks. There is no way to change this behavior in the RT audio console.

Stick to HDA Drivers

in which laptop/notebook pc models does this problem occur?

I did not encounter such problems with the pre-installed Realtek UAD 8720 drivers on my bro's new HP spectre x360 15-df (2020) laptop as connecting any headphones automatically & immediately turn off the built-in laptop speakers.  problem might occur when using non-oem or WU based UAD drivers but using manufacturer based drivers shouldn't have that problem
