A while back there was news that YT will be introducing the picture in picture mode, while there were suggestion that it might also bring out the mini-player that resembles it's counterpart in the android platform to the desktop or specifically browser environment.

And by the looks of it, it seems that the feature is already being tested on a lot of machines which maybe country restricted for now.
