A fire at a French cloud services firm has disrupted millions of websites, knocking out government agencies’ portals, banks, shops, news websites and taking out a chunk of the .FR web space, according to internet monitors.

The fire, which broke out on Wednesday shortly after midnight at OVHcloud, destroyed one of four data centres in Strasbourg, in eastern France, and damaged another, the company said.

If you haven't heard, there was a huge datacenter fire at the OVH Datacenter in France. Supposedly it was started when one of their UPS'es caught fire. The reason this is important is that upload.ee was hosted there, and they lost their systems. So upload.ee is down, and will be for a while. The last news I saw was that they hope to be up in some form on Friday, but there are still questions about which accounts and how much data will be restored.
