Verizon software?
#1
I recently switched to Verizon from Tmobile....

Using an S8 and a Note 20 5G Ultra

When SIM was insterted into the S8 phone restarted and like rewrote the OS... it installed all Verizon apps including the Voicemail app...

However on the Note 20 nothing like that happened. Just got 4g signal and completed activation. Later on got 5g.

But I wondered why the s8 did that... wish the note 20 did too to get the vvm app instead of dialing *86...

Likely the SIM wasn't updated to pre-install and you lucked out on the Note 20. It's corporate policy to preinstall as that's the case for all phone models given from the phone unless you're using a SIM that's already pre unlocked. All SIMS bought from official suppliers or approved sellers will have them preinstalled which will not be possible to prevent unless using modified SIM that might have problems connecting. --> Speaking from experience and learning the hard way, avoid modified SIMs. You'll think you're doing something clever but it will fuck up your 4G/5G connections.
