Syria air strikes: US and allies attack 'chemical weapons sites'
#2
Personally, I despise politics. But I will say this. If nobody was seriously injured or killed, that that's all that's really important.
Nothing matters more than human life. We can easily replace material possessions. We can't replace people.

And what about the long-term effects on the people who live close by? What about the water?

For those of you who do not have a good understanding of organic chemistry, More times than not, the "precursors" are just as toxic as the
weapons themselves. That means that the areas that were bombed need to be monitored and possibly cleaned up.

It's sad to see that armies are using chemical weapons in present-day warfare.
It's even more sad to see the things we have to do to mitigate that threat.
