Have seen this kind of sales tactic being used more than once. Sadly the people who suffer the consequence once it comes to light are the low-level employees. When in reality it is the higher ops of that company that are pressuring the sales team to bring in good numbers by every month end. Both higher management and the respective folks should be held accountable rather than just sweeping dirt under the rug by placing all the blame on one side.
