Windows Defender really sucks, please don't be fooled into thinking this will protect you from anything other than REALLY old malware.

Here is a newly created video demonstrating how you can bypass WD using a simple process hollowing technique in 5 minutes:

This is even on Runtime, which is the most difficult part of hiding from anti-viruses out there.

If you're browsing sketchy parts of the internet, and/or watch a lot of porn without Ublock Origin, then you are prone to getting a virus and should install something better than Windows Defender, or run your browser in Sandboxie/a disposable Virtual Machine.

I would share the same sentiment. 3
But let us not forget the fact that security and stability of an OS depends on the users.
Hence, the fault of the users. the MS was blamed. :D

i dont like pretty much any AV, since childhood never used, only installed for my clients some free crap for their placebo saety feeling and thats it, in the end theres no better AV than your own good sense when navigating and some luck too id say

Nothing is perfect, but it'll catch most things -- definitely adequate in 2021.  If you're not confident, try adding some free online web scanners on top of what Windows is already doing to double-check and keep Micro$oft honest.
